JOHN PUCKETT

CONVERSE – Dr. John Puckett, 68, of Converse, died Wednesday afternoon in Marion General Hospital. He was a retired dentist. Dr. Puckett was a World War II veteran and retired colonel in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Converse Masonic Lodge and Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and Shrine. Born Feb. 22, 1908, he was a son of Charles and Lola Frazer Puckett of Winchester. He was married to Gladys Burnham on Jan. 1, 1941, at Winchester. Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Sandra Mazola of Saginaw, Mich., Mrs. Lola Iannin and Mrs. Charlene Puckett, both of Winchester, Ky.; a brother, Jess of Dunedin, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Laird & son Funeral Home at Amboy with the Rev. Bill Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home where Masonic rites will be at 8 p.m. today. – jlr
